Jeff Heaton, president of Nuytco Research, described the suit as "a submarine that you wear," enabling divers to operate where they normally could not. This technological evolution places Nuytco Research at the forefront of the specialized industry.

Military Applications and DSEND System

Currently, 90 percent of Nuytco's work directly supports military needs, with a primary focus on submarine rescue and salvage operations. Heaton stated, "Most Navy divers are not war fighters; they support operations like rescue, like salvage. That’s where we excel and we perform that role for many Navies worldwide."

The specific suit to be featured at the Pentagon is the DSEND (Deep Sea Expeditionary No-Decompression system suit), currently used by the US Navy. This latest iteration of the atmospheric dive suit design enhances diver mobility, allowing for actions such as walking, jumping, lying down, and rolling over.
