The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without starting quarterback Zach Collaros for Sunday’s CFL matchup against the Ottawa RedBlacks due to a neck injury, the team confirmed. Backup Dru Brown will make his second consecutive start in Collaros’ absence.

Collaros, who missed Friday’s practice, will sit out for the second straight week, leaving Brown to face his former team. The RedBlacks traded Brown to the Bombers last month after demoting him from the starting role.

Dru Brown’s Strong Start for Winnipeg

Brown delivered a standout performance in his first start of the season last week, completing 25 of 31 passes for 339 yards, with one touchdown and one interception in a win over the Toronto Argonauts. The Bombers (3-2) now look to extend their momentum against the winless RedBlacks.

Injury Updates for Winnipeg’s Offense and Defense

Several other key players are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, including:

  • Receiver Nic Demski (ankle)
  • Running back Brady Oliveira (hip)
  • Offensive linemen Tui Eli (ankle) and Ethan Vibert (illness)

Defensive tackle Cam Lawson (hip) is doubtful, while six others—including receiver Kevens Clercius, linebackers Jaiden Woodbey and Lane Novak, and defensive linemen Tanner Schmekel and Da’Shaan Dixon—have been ruled out.

The Bombers travel to Ottawa for a 6:00 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday, aiming to improve their record against the league’s only winless team.
