Ukrainian drone strikes killed at least eight people and injured more than 60 across Russia overnight, officials confirmed on Saturday. The attacks targeted logistics hubs, oil depots, and warehouses, including facilities linked to Russia’s war effort.

Ukrainian drone attacks hit key Russian sites

Two Wildberries warehouses—one in Kotovsk (Tambov region) and another in Elektrostal, near Moscow—were struck, sparking major fires. The Kotovsk blaze was extinguished, but footage showed thick smoke billowing from the Elektrostal site. A separate drone hit an oil depot in Noginsk, forcing evacuations at a maternity hospital and residential building.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed the strikes targeted "significant logistical facilities" in Moscow and Tambov regions, used to supply sanctioned drone and navigation components. He also confirmed an oil facility was hit.

Casualties and damage across multiple regions

In Kotovsk, seven night-shift workers died and 25 were wounded, according to Tambov’s governor. Moscow region authorities reported 37 injuries, with one later fatality. Debris from a drone also damaged a kindergarten in Elektrostal, while a residential building in Vladimir caught fire briefly with no casualties.

  • 8 confirmed deaths (7 in Kotovsk, 1 in Moscow region)
  • 60+ injured across multiple sites
  • 379 drones intercepted by Russian air defenses, per the Defense Ministry

Russia’s Defense Ministry said it downed 379 Ukrainian drones over 19 regions, including Crimea and the Black Sea. Zelenskyy added that Ukrainian forces also conducted strikes in the Sea of Azov and occupied territories. Officials have yet to provide further updates on the evolving situation.
